Stephen Hawking Special Primary School

Stephen Hawking School is a special school in the London borough of Tower Hamlets for children aged 2-11 with profound and multiple learning difficulties. A significant number of our children have additional sensory and physical impairments.

We have high expectations of all children which, we believe, helps them to reach their potential. These high expectations are supported by experienced staff, many of whom have specialist qualifications in the education of children with learning difficulties

Through the local primary care trust we provide nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy. The local authority’s peripatetic teachers are availabled to support pupils with hearing and visual impairment.

We also offer an outreach service to support children with severe learning difficulties in mainstream schools.
